Summer and Lightning

Before my favorite season comes to a close.....two classics:

I have great affection for old warbirds.  This below was not the perfect plane, but an interesting engineering feat.  P-38 Lightning.  Two twelve cylinder Allisons. A battery of four 50 cals and a 20mm canon.  About ten years old I was he first time I saw that particular engine.  It was on, of all things, a tractor.  Love at first sight.
